A Harry Potter wand which raised £10,000 was kindly donated by author J K Rowling. The wand of the fictional wizard is one of few made for the most recent Harry Potter film, and was snapped up by Hearts Football Club majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov.

Vladimir Romanov waves his wand as Valdas Ivanauskas and Sir Tom Farmer look on.
The Lithuanian businessman outbid James Thomson of the Witchery as well as his counterpart at city rivals Hibernian Football Club to secure the Potter memorabilia. The wand was presented in a signed commemorative wooden box along with a signed coopy of the penultimate Harry Potter book-Harry Potter and the half Blood Prince.
